Summary of Responsibilities

As Translations Administrator you will offer technical and organisational support in the delivery of courses for translation, reporting progress to the Translation Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Your key responsibilities are as follows but not limited to:
  • To prepare all source files from Production, including video files, voice-over scripts, course collateral, timecoding, text-on-screen documents and webtext
  • To package and deliver all source files to the Translation Project Manager for quoting
  • To quality-check the technical aspects of the translated files and ensure all timecoding, formatting and punctuation display properly on the site
  • To keep an accurate record of which files have been/need to be uploaded, tracking progress and checking that all links have been created and are working on the site
  • To monitor and administer all file management including quotes, purchase orders and invoices
  • To ensure all project management records are kept up to date with all final documents and that these are saved on the time capsule

Skills, knowledge and attributes

  • Matric and a Project Management qualification or relevant experience in administration
  • Technically-minded or experience in a technical role or similar field
  • Exceptional command of the English language (written and verbal) is essential
  • Good working knowledge of computer systems – Mac use is an advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of different files types and extensions
  • Experience with multimedia software and platforms
  • Experience with administrative software and platforms
  • Understanding of the hospitality industry is beneficial but not essential
  • Excellent time management and quality management skills are essential
