As a Motion Graphics Designer your main role is to design and create enticing motion graphics for video deliverables. The role requires an eye for detail with the ability to define and uphold the Company’s as well as specific clients’ corporate identities, as well as the ability to manage time well and work under strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • To produce motion graphics as per the requirements of the client brief, focusing on design, creation of assets (graphic elements), animation, and delivering of high quality and innovative motion graphic content. This can include but is not limited to digital artwork of the following nature: design for presentations, course specific icons, animations and elements for laying over footage.
  • To interpret the style and requirements of the client brief so as to create an innovative and high quality animation
  • To assist Scriptwriters and Editors/Videographers where necessary with the creation of a ‘shot-list’ of animations
  • To design and create storyboards with input from fellow colleagues as required
  • To work together with various production team members and be a part of the ideation and conceptualisation of lessons
  • To research and analyse the best animation techniques and solutions that positively affect the learning process and deliver cutting edge motion graphics work
  • To maintain and follow best practice for version control, naming convention, exports and organisation of graphic files
  • To take ownership for sourcing and creating audio pieces and sound effects

Basic Requirements

  • Matric and relevant tertiary qualification in design or similar
  • At least 2 years’ industry-related work experience
  • An comprehensive digital portfolio or reel of animation work

Technical Knowledge

  • Proven Adobe After Effects skills, with solid experience in motion graphics
  • Proven Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator experience is a requirement
  • Proven ability to create high quality content from a loose or constrained brief with short deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro would be advantageous
  • Working knowledge of iWork (Pages, Numbers, Keynote)
  • Ability to conceptualise ideas and bring them to life visually
  • Excellent time management and quality management skills are essential
  • Understanding how design influences the way people learn is advantageous
  • Understanding of the hospitality industry beneficial but not essential
