Summary of Responsibilities:

The Business Analyst has an entrepreneurial drive and appetite for exploring and analyzing new business opportunities, and optimizing existing product monetisation in a fast growing scale-up company in the digital learning and hospitality industry. The Business Analyst is a multi-talented professional who manages complex challenges in a versatile and diverse role. To understand and convince the organisation on costs and benefits of business opportunities, the business Analyst holds close cooperation with finance and product owners to derive costs and determines benefits by engaging with senior management and sales, accompanied with the required desk research to develop market intelligence and customer insights. You deliver fact and figure based reports that lead to go-to-market strategic decisions, (new or adjusted) pricing plans or technical roadmap prioritization. You support our biggest customer/partner opportunities and support sales and senior management teams up to board level in complex pricing scenarios. You inform management on a monthly base about opportunities and forecast implications on periodic financial plans. You are part of the Product Management team and report in to the Manager of Products.

Key Job responsibilities:

  • Become a key sparring partner for board level management, finance and product managers to develop new business models, strategy and optimize existing models
  • Develop knowledge base for existing and target market opportunities
  • Translate the financial annual plan into product target plans in alignment with Finance
  • Monitor, analyse and advise Product Management on financial product performance
  • Support Product Managers in developing product requirements and business cases
  • Support, justify and steer on the product development roadmap
  • Preserve our market leading position, by advising product management on the product's value propositions
  • Inform board level management in the monthly product management letter on overall commercial performance
  • Challenge and support Product Management and Marketing on product marketing campaigns
  • Validate and advise on the commercial performance ambition of all products
  • Research competitive products or products to support business extensions
  • Present complex issues in a concise, clear and simple presentation style
  • Clearly communicates analyses, recommendations and research in a timely manner.                


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree required: Master's degree preferred; Financial background is a plus.
  • At least 4 years of experience as a business analyst in digital industries
  • Experience developing business cases and defining product requirements
  • Strong analytical and communicational, negotiation and persuasion, managerial, decision-making, problem solving and technical skills
  •  Strong Excel skills and preferably other BA software (e.g. MS Visio, MS Access, Cognos Analytics)
  • Experience in managing multiple projects in a highly  ambiguous environment
  • Relevant business experience with Business Modelling and pre-development product conceptualization, with ability to analyze data, develop financial models and come to data-driven conclusions
  • Basic Project Management skills
  • Clear and effective verbal, writing and presentation skills in English
  • Experience with agile product development methodology is a strong preference.
